happiness in culinary

The first time I found cooking a great way to suppress stress was during my short stay in Hilo.
I was amazed by the satisfaction of chopping veggies, completing and platting a dish, and seeking perfection. It was an unfamiliar yet pure happiness.

I was never used to cook because dinning out in my hometown was super super cheap. However things work differently in North America -- high taxes and tips are killing a graduate student's poor budget. I have to cook to feed myself. I like having control of every ingredient, so I can get rid of unnecessary greasiness and unbalanced seasoning. I can eat the right amount of food in every meal instead of being overstuffed. And maybe the greatest thing is that I am sure that everything is properly processed.

I am in love with culinary.
