mysterious obsession

There seems to be a mysterious obsession about supernova in pop-rocks.

The most popular supernova songs (at least to my very little knowledge in pop-rocks) may be Moby's "We Are All Made of Stars" and Oasis's "Champagne Supernova". I am not a fan of either but it's kind of interesting to see how people fancy astronomy, umm, astrophysics. Especially I am now trying to understand how really a supernova behave in different environments...

Oatmeal porridge in microwave oven

Healthy, cheap, and tasty (in the exact order) oatmeal porridge. Thanks to Alexis!!

* Mix 1 dl oatmeal with 1 dl water directly in a plate (or any container that is microwave-safe). Add some salt.
* Microwave on max for 2 minutes.
* Just about half time of the microwaving, use a spoon to improve the mixing a bit, and continue microwaving for the remaining time.
* Add milk and mashed apples (apple sauce).

Most of you probably have been listening to my complains for thousand times about how expensive the living coast is in Toronto. Most (or maybe all) of you may not understand why. Here is a price check of some Canadian and American products.

Still don't get the idea?? Okay, then you need to do some math. The Canadian dollar has just reached its highest value against the US dollar, 1 CAD=0.97 USD. Now look at the price check again. Find something shocking? If you are a daily-disposable contact user, it will coast you 44.72 USD in Buffalo per box but 87.27 USD in Toronto!! Isn't it freaking crazy?!

If you plan to travel in Canada soon, pack your bag in the US.

多倫多國際影展正火熱地進行中。

很多參展電影在這都是北美首映，於是處處有紅毯有明星有閃光有尖叫的人群。要遇到明星不難，只要在電影院附近晃或是到精品名店街散散步，哪裡看到彪形大漢保鏢哪裡就是明星出沒地。

summer crisis

As a grad student, no matter how beautiful the weather is, you gotta work.

The Toronto summer is unbelievably nice but super short. It is too precious to spend the summertime on working, however that's what I have been doing.
Every single morning I have to convince myself to work, to be productive. Meanwhile there is a voice in my mind telling me that I need a break. As a result, I spend most of my time fooling around not finishing anything.

說來也真怪，每次我特地去看某人打球某人就會表現失常。

之前熱血地帶了國旗去看阿民投球，結果看到了阿民空前（希望是絕後）最失水準的一次。今天興沖沖跑去看鈴木一郎拿到兩百安打數，Ichiro硬是一支安打都沒有，事實上他根本沒碰到什麼球．．．

朋友都笑說叫我別再去看球了做點好事。
